National – Senate Chairman Denounces Deadly Bombing at Imambargah

Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, today vehemently condemned a suicide bombing at an Imambargah in the Tarlai area, labelling the targeting of a place of worship a direct “assault on humanity, religious values, and national harmony”.

In a statement, the Chairman expressed profound grief over the loss of precious lives and the injuries sustained by several individuals in the tragic incident. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and conveyed deep sympathy for the wounded, praying for their swift recovery.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani asserted that such heinous acts are intolerable and that these “cowardly and barbaric” actions would not weaken the nation”s morale. Instead, he suggested, such incidents serve only to fortify national unity and determination.

He described the perpetrators as “enemies of humanity” who possess no religion, nationality, or country, and whose goal is to sabotage peace and stability. The Chairman reaffirmed that terrorists would not succeed in their nefarious designs, emphasising that the entire nation and its state institutions are unified against this menace.

The Senate Chairman also commended the persistent and effective efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. He noted that the nation takes great pride in the sacrifices made by its security personnel.

Concluding his statement, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani reiterated his deepest sympathies for the bereaved families, affirming that the entire country stands in solidarity with them during this time of grief.
