Motorcyclist killed in trailer collision on Sakrand National Highway, body moved to hospital in a rickshaw due to non-availability of ambulance

In a severe failure of emergency response services in Sakrand, the body of a young man was transported to the hospital in a loader rickshaw after no government or welfare organization’s ambulance reached the site of a fatal accident on the National Highway on Monday.

25-year-old motorcyclist Sohail son of Afzaluddin Noonari was killed after being hit by a speeding trailer near Bajwa Petrol Pump. According to reports, the young man remained in a wounded state for about half an hour and died on the spot.

All efforts to get an ambulance were in vain; Sakrand Motorway ambulance, 1122 rescue service, Sindh Health Department, and even private welfare organizations’ ambulance services were reportedly unavailable.

Having no other option, the deceased’s relatives who arrived at the scene were forced to move his body to the Taluka Hospital via a loader rickshaw.

Furthermore, during this entire incident, neither rescue officials nor the Motorway Police’s ambulance arrived at the scene on the country’s most important national highway.
