Major operation against hoarding and illegal profiteering in Okara, fines imposed on seed sellers

The Para Force and Agriculture Department have fined several seed sellers Rs 55,000 following a coordinated crackdown against hoarding and illegal profiteering in the city on Monday.

This joint operation was conducted by Para Force Okara and the Agriculture Department under the special direction of the Deputy Commissioner Okara to tackle illegal profiteering.

During inspections of various seed shops across the city, officials found widespread violations of official price lists and evidence of hoarding, prompting immediate disciplinary action against the offending businesses.

An official statement emphasized that the exploitation of farmers will not be tolerated, and affirmed that ensuring the supply of quality seeds at government-set rates is the administration’s top priority.

The city administration has issued a stern warning that such vigorous actions against hoarders will continue, and declared that there is no longer any room for lawbreakers in Okara and those who harm the interests of the public and agriculture will face severe consequences.
