Authorities have taken 18 individuals into custody in a series of operations across the federal capital, confiscating a significant cache of narcotics, alcohol, and weapons, according to an official police statement.
According to a police report today, teams from multiple police stations, including Karachi Company, Shalimar, Sumbal, Shams Colony, Khanna, Koral, Kirpa, Nilore, and Bani Gala, apprehended 14 suspects allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
During these operations, officers seized 1,020 grams of drugs, 40 bottles of liquor, nine pistols, and one rifle complete with ammunition from the possession of the accused.
Formal cases have been registered against the detained individuals, and further investigations are currently underway.
In a separate initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, law enforcement teams detained an additional four individuals as part of a special campaign.
The operations were conducted following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. A police spokesperson noted that the crackdown on criminal elements is part of an ongoing effort to maintain peace and security in the city and protect residents” lives and property.
Authorities have also encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to their local police station or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, emphasising that public cooperation is vital for crime prevention.
