Traffic authorities in Islamabad have launched a major enforcement campaign against heavy transport on IJP Road on Wednesday, taking action against 155 vehicles, with a stern warning of impounding vehicles and revoking driving licenses for serious violations.
The objective of this large-scale operation is to curb lane violations and other rule-breaking by heavy vehicles on this important highway.
The announcement was made in a special message issued by Chief Traffic Officer Captain (Retd) Hamza Humayun from Captain Colonel Sher Khan Shaheed Avenue, which is the official name of IJP Road.
The CTO confirmed that any vehicle deemed a threat to “precious lives” will be impounded and the respective driving licenses will be revoked under the new strict measures.
