Pakistan has made a forceful appeal for significant progress in the peaceful settlement of long-standing disputes, demanding adherence to international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The call was articulated by Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani while delivering the national statement at the inaugural session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Annual Hearing 2026, convened at the UN headquarters, according to official information today.
Addressing the global assembly, the Chairman of the Senate also advocated for more democratic, transparent, and accountable decision-making mechanisms to bolster the UN’s credibility.
He further stressed that national parliaments are indispensable partners in guaranteeing domestic ownership and implementation of international commitments.
