Government Prioritises Key CPEC Motorway Sections in Balochistan

The government has affirmed its commitment to prioritising development initiatives in Balochistan, with particular emphasis on the completion of the M-8 motorway, a project of significant strategic and economic value, the upper house of parliament was informed.

Addressing the Senate during the Question Hour, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary detailed the progress on the crucial China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route linking Gwadar Port to Ratodero, according to a MOIB information today.

The minister confirmed that major portions of the motorway are already finished and in use. These operational segments include the stretches from Gwadar to Hoshab and from Khuzdar to Ratodero.

Mr Chaudhary further updated the house that construction has now commenced on the remaining sections of the M-8. The segments currently being built are from Hoshab to Awaran and from Awaran to Naal.
