Lawyers for Human Rights and Legal Aid (LHRLA) held its Annual General Meeting today, unanimously electing the Executive Committee for the 2026-2028 tenure.
According to the election result, Zia Ahmed Awan, Advocate Supreme Court, has been elected as President. Other elected body office-bearers include Vice President Ms Asma Qurashi, General Secretary Syed Itrat Rizvi, Treasurer Abdul Hadi, Joint Secretary Jawaid Asghar; Members Ms Samreen Naz, and Ms Uzma Moton.
Speaking on the occasion, President Zia Ahmed Awan declared the Term of Restoration, pledging to rebuild for future. He also informed about his vision to pivot the organization’s legal aid services towards combatting Al-facilitated gender-based violence and cyber-harassment.
