Qazi Ahmed police violence to disperse protest of triple murder heirs; over 150 arrested

Law enforcement agencies on Wednesday baton-charged a sit-in by the grieving heirs of three murder victims to disperse them, taking the bodies into custody and arresting more than 150 protesters.

The protest was being staged by the heirs of the Bhand community of Nawab Wali Muhammad, which had been ongoing for about 20 hours before the police operation began. Among those detained are the main complainants in the murder case, Bakhshan Bhand and Allah Bux Bhand.

During the operation, personnel took custody of the bodies of the three victims present at the protest and moved them from there via ambulances.

After the police action, the sit-in was ended and the road was opened for traffic. According to reports, there is intense anger among the other family members of the victims over this incident.
