Order to resolve pending police cases on a priority basis, ensure timely redressal of public complaints

Karachi’s Additional Inspector General of Police, Azad Khan, has issued strict directives to prioritize the resolution of pending criminal cases and ensure the timely redressal of public complaints, following a high-level review of the city’s Centralized Investigation Centers.

The directive was given during a key meeting held at the Karachi Police Office on Wednesday, which was convened to review the affairs of the Centralized Investigation Centers.

Presiding over the meeting, Azad Khan was accompanied by senior law enforcement officials, including DIG Admin, DIG Investigation Sindh, DIG CIA, DIG Investigation Karachi, and DIG West, among other high-ranking officers.

The meeting conducted a comprehensive review of the overall performance of the investigation centers, focusing on cases under investigation as well as broader administrative and procedural matters.

The Additional IG stressed that all investigations must be conducted strictly on merit, demanding complete transparency and adherence to professional standards from all relevant personnel.

He emphasized the need to make existing investigation standards more effective to improve the overall quality and speed of the criminal justice process in the city.
