Two police personnel were martyred and one injured while successfully preventing a suicide bomber from entering the Dajjal police check post in Bhakkar; a polio worker was also injured in the security incident.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Abdul Karim, visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Bhakkar to inquire about the health of the injured polio worker.
Accompanied by Additional IG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Waseem Ahmed Sial and Bhakkar District Police Officer (DPO), the provincial police chief spoke to the health worker under treatment and prayed for his speedy recovery.
During his visit, IG Abdul Karim paid tribute to the bravery of the martyred and injured police personnel, stating that the personnel sacrificed their lives to stop the attacker. The injured police officer has been shifted to Multan for further medical treatment.
IG Abdul Karim emphasized, “The Punjab Police will never let terrorists succeed in their nefarious designs.”
He vowed that “the police operation against Indian sedition and extremists will continue with full force.”
The IG concluded, “The blood of our soldiers will not go in vain.”
