Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Captain (Retired) Muhammad Safdar emphasized the urgent need to establish moral standards in the political arena. Speaking at the Abbottabad Press Club today, he criticized the misinterpretation of Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s statements and expressed regret over the use of indecent language in political discourse.
Safdar highlighted the importance of respecting religious figures and said that any derogatory remarks about them are deserving of apology. He expressed confidence in PML-N’s success in the upcoming elections of Azad Kashmir and emphasized the importance of re-considering the Kashmir issue after the 27th to avoid any harmful disruption.
He criticized those who could not obtain party tickets and later joined the Istehkam Pakistan party, calling them opportunists. Safdar claimed that Pakistan’s services for global peace will ultimately be rewarded with the freedom of Kashmir.
In his address, Captain Safdar congratulated the newly elected cabinet of the Abbottabad Press Club and said that Abbottabad has a rich literary heritage. He expressed hope for the development of educational projects like Daanish schools in Torghar Kala Dhaka, although the provincial government has yet to implement land allotment.
Furthermore, he announced that the Hazara Electric Supply Company has secured its rights and local recruitment is ongoing with the upgrading of its infrastructure, as directed by Mian Shahbaz Sharif. He also noted that Imran Khan canceled the airport project in Hazara.
The President of the Press Club, Sardar Naveed Alam, appreciated Captain Safdar’s continued association with the club and his commitment to democratic values.
