Woman killed in Baldia Gulshan-e-Ghazi, 3 suspects arrested in police encounters

A 50-year-old woman was killed in a firing incident by unidentified assailants in the city, while police arrested three suspected robbers, two in an injured state, during separate operations in other districts.

According to a police report issued on Monday, the fatal incident occurred in Ittehad Town, District Keamari, where Hidayat Bibi wife of Nawaz was shot and killed in Baldia Gulshan-e-Ghazi Block D. Officials stated that the motive behind the shooting is unknown and the culprits have not yet been identified. Her body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi, while an investigation into the matter is underway.

In a separate police action in District West, law enforcement personnel engaged in a shootout with suspected criminals near Orangi Town Sector 9E. Following the exchange of fire, two individuals identified as Ali Akbar and Usman were arrested. Akbar sustained injuries during the encounter and was immediately moved to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, in District Central, another encounter took place on an inner street in the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area. Police arrested an alleged dacoit, identified as Asif, in an injured condition after an exchange of fire. However, his accomplice managed to escape from the scene. The injured individual was also shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed the recovery of a pistol with rounds, four mobile phones, cash, and a motorcycle from the suspects arrested in Orangi Town. A pistol with bullets and an unspecified amount of cash were recovered from the individual arrested in Khawaja Ajmer Nagri. Police have initiated further investigations into all three incidents.
