3 die from drinking poisonous liquor in Karachi’s Nazimabad

Three people have tragically died in the Nazimabad area after allegedly drinking poisonous, illegally produced liquor, prompting a high-level police response.

The deaths occurred on Monday morning in Nazimabad No. 1, which falls within the jurisdiction of the Rizvia Society Police in District Central.

Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, taking strict notice of the matter, has demanded an immediate and detailed report from the Senior Superintendent of Police District Central.

The provincial police chief has ordered that “a transparent, impartial, and comprehensive investigation into the incident be ensured at all costs.”

In his instructions, IG Odho stressed the need to identify the “responsible elements” and vowed that “strict action be taken against those involved in accordance with the law.”

In view of the approaching minority festival, the IG also issued a broad order for a crackdown against suspects involved in the sale of poisonous country-made liquor and other narcotics.
