Condemnation of killing of over 170 female students in Iran, former Senator Sassui Palijo stresses on world peace

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, former provincial minister and Senator Sassui Palijo has strongly condemned the attack on a girls’ school in Iran, in which more than 170 female students were reportedly killed.

The former senator stressed in a statement today that women bear the greatest burden during crises, shortages, and especially wars. In this context, she urged powerful countries to avoid armed conflict at all costs, while also stating that brave women, when facing war-like situations, often demonstrate extraordinary spirit and courage.

In her commemorative message, Ms. Palijo extended her congratulations to the women of Pakistan, especially the women of Sindh. She paid tribute to women of great character from all walks of life and acknowledged their contributions in diverse fields such as politics, agriculture, fisheries, health, and education.

She highlighted that women continuously face numerous hardships yet prove their abilities through their hard work. The senator pointed out that when Sindhi women are provided with even the slightest opportunities, they deliver outstanding results and play a significant role in societal development.

Ms. Palijo emphasized that a better and more developed society can only be achieved by empowering women. She also stressed the need to provide equal opportunities in every field to enable more effective participation of women in the nation’s building and development.

Concluding her statement, Palijo also paid tribute to prominent women leaders, including the martyred Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, who she said confronted terrorism more bravely than men and ultimately sacrificed her life.
