Suspended water supply to West and Keamari districts due to power breakdown in Karachi restored

A spokesperson for the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation has confirmed that the water supply to West and Keamari districts, which was suspended due to a major power breakdown at the Hub Pumping Station, has been fully restored.

According to the spokesperson, the disruption began this morning with a sudden breakdown from K-Electric, which completely cut off the power supply to the pumping station.

Initially, the power supply from the Valika Grid Station was suspended, upon which an alternative arrangement was made to start the power supply from the Al-Mumtaz feeder.

However, at 10:40 AM, the supply from the Al-Mumtaz feeder was also suddenly cut off, causing all pumping activities at the station to come to a complete halt.

According to the Water Corporation, K-Electric officials attributed the power outage to a cable fault in their feeder system. Due to this technical fault, the water supply to both districts was temporarily suspended.

During the power outage, Water Corporation officials maintained constant contact with the K-Electric administration for the immediate restoration of electricity.

The spokesperson announced that power has now been restored to the Hub Pumping Station, and the water supply to the West and Keamari districts has successfully commenced.
