US Dollar Breaches 280 Mark in Open Market

The United States dollar surpassed the 280 mark in the open currency market on Monday, while other major international currencies such as the Euro and the British Pound also commanded high valuations, according to the latest figures.

Data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan showed the greenback”s selling price reached 280.42, with its buying price recorded at 279.65. In comparison, the interbank market saw the US dollar close at a slightly lower band, trading between 279.37 and 279.57.

The Euro was quoted with a selling value of 326.14 and a buying price of 322.44. Similarly, the Pound Sterling was a high-value monetary unit, being sold for 376.13 and purchased at 371.90.

Among other currencies, the Japanese Yen was pegged between 1.73 and 1.80 for buying and selling, respectively.

Key currencies from the Gulf region also featured in the day”s trading. The UAE Dirham was exchanged between 75.81 (buying) and 76.71 (selling), while the Saudi Riyal was valued at 74.03 for buying and 74.96 for selling.
