Keamari district police successfully thwarted a major smuggling operation on Saturday, seizing illegal Indian gutka worth crores of rupees. The banned chewing tobacco was allegedly being transported from Balochistan towards Karachi.
Law enforcement officials intercepted a vehicle laden with smuggled goods at the Mochko checkpoint in Keamari district.
During the operation, authorities recovered a large quantity of the illicit substance, comprising 445 packets, containing 48,000 individual sachets of Indian gutka.
A suspect, identified as Gulab Rai, allegedly involved in the transportation of these illegal goods, was arrested during the intervention.
Following the seizure and arrest, a formal case, number 272/26, has been registered at the Mochko police station. According to a Keamari police spokesperson, investigations into the matter are currently underway.
