An armed confrontation between law enforcement and suspected robbers near Arbi Mahal early this morning resulted in one assailant being arrested in an injured condition, while his partner successfully evaded capture.
The apprehended individual was identified by officials as Shehzad, son of Muhammad Khan. He sustained injuries during the exchange of fire and was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment under police custody.
Meanwhile, a second individual, believed to be an accomplice, managed to flee the location during the incident and remains at large.
Following the confrontation, police secured the scene and recovered a number of items, including one pistol with ammunition, three mobile phones, an unspecified amount of cash, and a motorcycle.
Authorities from the Darakhshan police station have confirmed that a formal inquiry has been launched into the event, and further investigation is currently underway.
