Ramadan fosters social responsibility and empathy for the deprived: Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh leader, Engineer Ali Mardan Shah Gilani, the Islamic month of Ramadan is a significant period for fostering a sense of social responsibility and collective consciousness. He emphasized that the personal experience of fasting helps to cultivate empathy for the less fortunate members of society.

Speaking at a Khatm-ul-Quran ceremony at Shadi Large last night, the ameer of Badin district, Gilani, explained that the physical sensations of hunger and thirst during fasting provide individuals with an opportunity to better understand the daily struggles of deprived classes.

He pointed out that this heightened awareness awakens feelings of compassion, sacrifice, and altruism, thereby encouraging charitable acts. He said that the spiritual reward for Zakat, Sadaqat, and other charities is multiplied many times over during this holy month.

The religious leader stressed that this widespread spirit of giving helps to establish an atmosphere of justice, equality, and brotherhood in society.

Gilani also spoke on the importance of the Holy Quran, describing it as the final revealed book sent for the guidance of all humankind. He stressed that its purpose extends beyond spiritual reward to provide a comprehensive code for living.

He described the Quran as the ultimate source of guidance for humanity, containing the principles needed to distinguish between right and wrong.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader described the blessed period of Ramadan as a soul-nourishing month that manifests divine mercy, immense grace, and boundless forgiveness.

The event was also attended by Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Badin district Ghulam Rasool Ahmedani, Principal of Government Elementary School Shadi Wahid Bakhsh, and the mosque’s Imam Qari Abdul Wahab Ali Cheema.
