Police Apprehend 23, Seize Drugs and Firearms in Federal Capital

Authorities in the federal capital have taken 23 individuals into custody, seizing a significant cache of narcotics and illegal firearms in a series of targeted operations.

According to a police report today, plice officials reported that 17 of the suspects were detained by teams from the Secretariat, Tarnol, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Shams Colony, Khanna, Bhara Kahu, and Shahzad Town police stations for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

From the possession of these individuals, officers confiscated 815 grams of hashish, 250 grams of heroin, 25 bottles of liquor, and 13 pistols complete with ammunition.

In a separate initiative, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and individuals absconding from the law resulted in the apprehension of an additional six wanted persons.

These operations were conducted following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of a wider effort to curb criminal elements in the city.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed that the police force is dedicated to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, stating that the top priority is ensuring peace and protecting citizens.

Formal cases have been registered against all the detained individuals, and further investigations into the matters are currently underway.

The police have also called upon citizens to assist in crime prevention by reporting any suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15’, emphasising the role of public-police cooperation in maintaining a secure society.
