Law enforcement officials today claimed to have seized a significant quantity of narcotics and illegal weapons, apprehending 19 individuals in a widespread operation across the federal capital. The confiscated items include over four kilograms of various illicit drugs and seven pistols complete with ammunition.
According to an official statement, twelve of the suspects were detained for their alleged involvement in a range of criminal activities. The arrests were conducted by personnel from the Kohsar, Ramna, Golra, Industrial Area, Shams Colony, Khanna, Koral, Humak, Nilore, and Bhara Kahu police stations.
The recovered contraband from the accused consists of 3,210 grams of hashish, 760 grams of heroin, and 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice. All seven seized firearms were found with corresponding ammunition. Legal cases have been registered against the detained individuals, and further investigations are underway.
Separately, a dedicated campaign targeting fugitives resulted in the capture of seven proclaimed offenders and absconders by various police units.
These operations are part of a continuing crackdown on criminal elements, initiated under special directives from the Inspector General of Police for Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at maintaining peace in the city.
Senior Superintendent of Police for Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the force”s dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He stated that no individuals would be permitted to disrupt public order and reiterated that ensuring citizen safety remains the organisation”s foremost priority.
Authorities have also encouraged the public to promptly report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station or through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, highlighting that cooperation between the police and the public is vital for eradicating crime from society.
