Government Prepared For Global Tensions, PM Asserts Amid Fuel Supply Review

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that the administration is fully prepared to handle any eventuality stemming from ongoing global tensions, reassuring the public that timely government decisions have secured adequate petroleum reserves nationwide.

The premier’s remarks came during a high-level meeting in the capital, which focused on enforcing austerity measures, providing public relief, and managing the country’s petroleum stocks in light of the evolving regional situation, according to a statement today.

Mr Sharif emphasised that achieving economic stability and delivering relief to the populace remain the foremost priorities of his government.

He stated that a special committee established to ensure economic stability had made timely decisions, which have been instrumental in maintaining a continuous supply of oil for consumers.

Consultations are reportedly continuing on potential additional measures to provide further relief to citizens as the international situation develops.

During the session, the Prime Minister directed petroleum distribution companies to guarantee the sale of fuel at government-stipulated rates and to uphold complete transparency in their operations.

Officials at the meeting briefed the Prime Minister on the country”s current oil reserves, the import of petroleum commodities to meet national demand, and the steps being taken to assist the public.

The briefing confirmed that the government is continuously monitoring the sale of petroleum products to ensure compliance with fixed pricing.

Furthermore, it was revealed that a new feature has been integrated into the “Pak App,” which allows citizens to lodge complaints regarding the non-availability of petroleum products or overcharging anywhere in the country, with the government vowing to take immediate action on such reports.
