Bus going from Karachi to Punjab overturns near Matiari on National Highway, 4 passengers dead, more than 7 injured

A passenger coach traveling from Karachi to Punjab met with an accident on the National Highway near Matiari, resulting in the death of four passengers and injuring seven.

According to police officials, this tragic accident occurred due to slipperiness on the road caused by rain, which led to the driver losing control of the bus, causing it to overturn. Upon receiving information about the accident, rescue teams reached the spot and immediately shifted the injured and the bodies to a nearby hospital.

Sources say that the affected passenger coach was traveling from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan, and the deceased and injured individuals belong to various districts of Punjab.

According to the hospital administration, the condition of some of the injured is critical, due to which there is a fear of an increase in the death toll.

Following this tragedy, Inspector General of Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Matiari to immediately reach the scene of the incident.

The IG issued instructions to secure the accident site and to transfer all injured persons to a nearby hospital for immediate medical aid.

Mr. Odho stressed that rescue operations should continue without any hindrance and that all possible assistance should be provided to the affected passengers in cooperation with the district administration.

Orders were also issued to restore traffic flow with effective monitoring of alternative routes.

The provincial police chief emphasized the importance of maintaining close contact with hospital authorities to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.

Furthermore, he also authorized the immediate deployment of additional personnel and relief resources at the accident site if needed.
