Five people, including a woman, have been killed in a violent clash between two groups of the Junejo community in the Rani Pur area of Khairpur.
Upon receiving information about the deadly incident on Saturday, Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Javed Alam Odho, took notice and sought a report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur based on initial investigations.
The provincial police chief has issued directives for the immediate arrest of all elements involved in the clash and ordered a comprehensive, transparent, and impartial investigation.
He further directed the authorities to maintain the law and order situation in the affected area at all costs, and to take effective measures by deploying additional personnel to avoid any further untoward incident.
The IG said that action will be taken without discrimination against those who take the law into their own hands, and stressed that the establishment of lasting peace in the area must be ensured.
