Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) today, in an intelligence-based operation in the Pathan Colony area, arrested three alleged suspects of the “Tango Gang,” a group involved in hundreds of street crimes and an incident of injuring a police officer.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Muzammil Shah son of Izzat Ali, Sabir Rehman son of Habib-ur-Rehman, and Karimullah alias Lala son of Haji Muhammad. Authorities recovered three mobile phones and an unspecified amount of cash from their possession.

According to a statement issued today by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), the suspects are allegedly responsible for countless incidents of armed robbery in various areas of the city, including Baldia Town, Orangi Town, SITE Area, Ittehad Town, and Manghopir. The gang’s illegal activities allegedly include the theft of 300 to 400 mobile phones, motorcycles, and cash.

In a startling confession, Karimullah alias Lala admitted to personally snatching approximately 30 mobile phones during the recent month of Ramadan alone.

Muzammil Shah, described as a key operative of the criminal gang, is not only accused in multiple street crime incidents but was also allegedly involved in injuring a police officer during a police encounter in the Bhatti Park area. The press release stated that he is clearly visible in the CCTV footage of the incident.

The third individual, Sabir Rehman, allegedly played the role of a facilitator, handling the purchase and resale of snatched mobile phones.

The statement further revealed that two other associates of the gang are already incarcerated, and law enforcement agencies are actively conducting raids to apprehend their remaining accomplices.

Multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against the trio at various police stations across the city.

The arrested suspects, along with the seized items, have been handed over to police custody for the initiation of further legal proceedings.

Concluding the announcement, the Sindh Rangers appealed to the public to help in the elimination of crime by reporting any information about criminal elements to their nearest check post or through designated helpline and WhatsApp numbers, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
