The Criminal Model Court of Khairpur, while announcing its verdict in a nine-year-old case, sentenced a murder convict to death and imposed a heavy fine of 1.9 million rupees.
Judge Liaquat Ali Koso of Khairpur Criminal Model Court announced his decision today in the murder case of Imran Ali Kunhar. Mumtaz Ali Kunhar was convicted and sentenced to death, in addition to being ordered to pay 1.9 million rupees to the victim’s family.
If the convict fails to pay the said financial fine, he will have to serve an additional six months imprisonment.
The incident in question occurred nine years ago when Mumtaz Ali Kunhar shot and killed Imran Ali Kunhar after a minor dispute. This violent altercation took place in Hasso Kunhar village, located within the limits of Peer Goth police.
Following the court’s decision, Mumtaz Ali Kunhar was transferred to Central Jail Khairpur under strict police security.
