Pakistan’s Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced that the construction of the 480-km Rohri-Karachi railway line is set to begin in September, at an estimated cost of US$2 billion.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi to day, the minister also revealed that Pakistan Railways has finalized an agreement with the Punjab government. The agreement aims to significantly upgrade and expand rail services across the province, marking a joint effort to expand the country’s railways.
Further elaborating on the organisation”s broader initiatives, Mr Abbasi highlighted that Pakistan Railways operates fourteen schools nationwide. These institutions are dedicated to supporting the educational needs of its employees” children.
In a move to elevate educational standards, Pakistan Railways has also forged a partnership with ‘The International School’. This collaboration specifically targets the improvement of facilities at the Railway School Karachi and seeks to guarantee a high standard of learning for the children of railway personnel.
