3 Children Sleeping on House Roof in Hyderabad Die Due to Electric Shock from High Voltage Wires

On Thursday, a tragic incident cast a pall of grief over the Phuleli Tando Tayyab sub-division area of Hyderabad, where three young children who were resting on a roof became victims of fatal electric shock from high voltage power lines. The joyous atmosphere of the wedding house soon turned into deep sorrow after their untimely death.

Police sources confirmed that unfortunately, the incident occurred at night when these children, who had come from Shahdadpur to attend a wedding ceremony, were sleeping on a roof. They came into contact with nearby 11,000-volt electrical conduits, resulting in their immediate death. The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Abdullah, 10-year-old Faizan, and 12-year-old Naveed, two of whom were siblings. After the tragedy, their bodies were removed from the roof and sent to Shahdadpur via Edhi ambulance.

In response, officials of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) attributed the disaster to unauthorized constructions. According to HESCO, illegal constructions of houses had taken place directly under the 11 KV OPH-1 feeder in the Tando Tayyab area, which gave rise to this dangerous situation that caused this tragic loss of life.

Zohaib Shirwani, XEN Phuleli Division, stated that HESCO management had already issued warnings to the concerned individuals, but construction activities were not stopped. A formal application has been filed at the local police station for further legal action related to this matter.

This incident has sparked a wave of intense grief and anger across the area. Residents are immediately demanding urgent measures against dangerous electrical infrastructure and the proliferation of illegal buildings.
