President Asif Ali Zardari will attend ceremonies in Beijing on a week-long official visit. This high-profile engagement assumes special significance as the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year, with a keen focus on promoting economic and trade cooperation, especially through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
During his official visit, the President will also visit Changsha in Hunan Province and Sanya in Hainan Province. He is expected to hold talks with the relevant provincial leadership and discuss various aspects of Pak-China bilateral relations.
