Sindh Governor Demands Uninterrupted Gas Supply, Crackdown on Theft

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi today emphatically called for ensuring an unfaltering natural gas supply to domestic consumers, stressing its absolute necessity. He also highlighted the equal importance of continuous energy provision for industrial zones and mandated authorities to implement stringent measures against gas pilferage.

During a meeting with Muhammad Ameen Rajput, Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), at the Governor House, the provincial chief executive also directed the establishment of an integrated and efficient system for the prompt resolution of public grievances.

Mr. Hashmi further elaborated that modernisation of the gas network would not only enhance overall availability but also significantly contribute to ameliorating persistent low-pressure challenges faced by consumers.

On the occasion, Mr. Rajput, the SSGC chief, apprised the Governor on the prevailing gas availability situation, operational hurdles, and ongoing initiatives. Discussions delved into strategies for mitigating transmission losses, bolstering the utility”s infrastructure, and addressing pressure-related anomalies.

Mr. Rajput informed that industrial sectors are currently receiving preferential gas allocation, while concerted efforts are also in progress to augment the total supply volume through the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
