Pakistan has strongly advocated for a diplomatic and dialogue-driven approach to resolve the complex challenges currently facing the Korean Peninsula, cautioning against any actions that could escalate regional tensions.
The recommendation was put forth by Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan.s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, during a Security Council briefing focused on Non-proliferation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, according to a report today.
Ambassador Jadoon explicitly warned against the use of coercive or provocative measures, as well as threats and inflammatory rhetoric. He emphasised the crucial need for all involved parties to refrain from any actions that might exacerbate the current situation.
Furthermore, he urged parties to demonstrate restraint and to respond constructively to viable proposals aimed at de-escalation and peaceful resolution.
