Hub Salt Signs Agreement with Chinese Company for Installation of Hybrid Solar Battery System

A breakthrough agreement has been reached between leading industrial company Hub Salt and China’s renowned Livoltek, under which Pakistan’s first hybrid solar and battery storage system will be installed. This historic initiative is estimated to result in an astonishing annual saving of 360,000 liters of diesel, significantly reducing pressure on the country’s foreign exchange reserves and proving to be a major step towards industrial energy self-sufficiency.

According to an announcement released today by industrial enterprise Hub Salt, this historic agreement was finalized during a ceremony in Karachi, attended by Hub Salt’s Chief Executive Officer, Ismail Suttar, and Livoltek’s Asia Pacific Director, Max Ma. Documents were also exchanged with Optimizone’s CEO, Yasir Mehdi. The project’s Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders have been awarded to Optimizone, which will collaborate closely with its Chinese technology partner, Livoltek.

The project is based on the installation of a 1.44 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system, integrated with a 2.35 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This advanced infrastructure will completely move Hub Salt away from reliance on diesel generators, significantly reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Mr. Suttar described the project as a transformative initiative for his company, which will serve as a benchmark for the broader industrial sector. He stated that the integration of modern renewable technology will not only enhance operational efficiency but also set a precedent for promoting the adoption of green energy in Pakistan’s industrial landscape. He further added that this scheme is a key pillar of their long-term strategy to foster sustainable industrial development and achieve national energy objectives.

In addition to economic benefits, this project holds immense environmental significance. It is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 2,000 tons, equivalent to the absorption capacity of approximately 90,000 planted trees. Furthermore, this endeavor will enable Hub Salt to participate in global carbon markets, earning carbon credits under internationally recognized standards such as Verra and Gold Standard.

Livoltek’s Asia Pacific Director, Max Ma, confirmed that this partnership will further strengthen his company’s presence in Pakistan, facilitated through a strategic alliance with Optimizone.
