Two police constables were injured today during a fierce clash with alleged drug peddlers in Keti Bunder, a coastal area of Thatta district. On the directives of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Thatta, a large number of law enforcement agencies swiftly cordoned off the city of Juho, and launched a widespread search operation.
According to information, last night police personnel attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle. However, the occupants of the vehicle evaded the personnel and entered a residential area where they attacked the pursuing constables. Officers Niaz Bhatti and Ghulam Nabi Khushk were injured in this skirmish and were immediately shifted to a medical center for treatment.
Following the incident, a coordinated operation was launched under the leadership of DSP Garho, Abdul Rauf Nehrio. This joint effort involved police units from Garho, Gharo Bari, Keti Bunder, and Sakro police stations. The united force completely cordoned off the area.
As a result of the operation, two key suspects were taken into custody, identified as Fazal Memon and Waseem Memon. Authorities also seized a Shahzor pickup truck and 67 bags of betel nut, which is reportedly a prohibited substance used for the production of Gutka.
According to statements from law enforcement agencies, a formal complaint has been lodged against the arrested individuals, and further investigations into the matter are underway.
