Rawalpindi Traffic Police has announced a major decision to take strict action against vehicles equipped with illegal CNG cylinders and against vehicles operating without suitable fitness certificates, due to severe risks to human lives.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam today confirmed that strict and impartial measures will be taken against those installing unauthorized cylinders. He further confirmed that legal proceedings, including registration of cases, will be initiated against vehicles using such non-compliant equipment.
The Chief Traffic Officer also ordered that vehicles not possessing proper fitness certificates be removed from public roads until they obtain the necessary certificate. This directive is to ensure that all vehicles meet safety standards before operation.
Highlighting the inherent dangers, Mr. Aslam stated that substandard gas cylinders and vehicles operating without fitness certificates pose a major threat to public safety and human lives.
He warned that a slight error by the driver or a violation of traffic laws can lead to a serious road accident, emphasizing the importance of adherence to rules.
The decision to implement these strict actions was made with the primary objective of protecting the lives and property of the public, according to the Traffic Police Chief.
Preventing road accidents and protecting human lives are a paramount concern for Rawalpindi Traffic Police, a goal they constantly strive to maintain for the safe travel of all citizens.
