Principal of Government Girls College Nawan Shehr, Professor Ghazala Kiran Awan, Promoted from Grade 20 to Grade 21

Professor Ghazala Kiran Awan, Principal of Government Girls College Nawan Shehr, has been promoted from Grade 20 to Grade 21 by the provincial government today in recognition of her outstanding performance and services in the field of education. Professor Awan, hailing from the Salhad area of Abbottabad, has a career spanning over 26 years, particularly in the field of mathematics.

Throughout her extensive career, she has served in various cities, including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Havelian, and Chitral, where her expertise has been widely acknowledged. Prior to her current responsibility, she has served as Vice Principal and Acting Principal at Government Postgraduate Girls College Abbottabad.

The Higher Education Commission counts Professor Awan among the most capable principals, appreciating her administrative ability, integrity, and dedication. Under her leadership, Nawan Shehr Girls College has achieved a prominent position in both academic and extracurricular fields.

She is also renowned for her remarkable contributions towards girls’ education and efforts to beautify the college. Officials of the Higher Education Department consistently commend her administrative capability and further note her commitment to preventing resource wastage and safeguarding government resources.

Professor Awan belongs to a distinguished family; her late father-in-law, Haji Muhammad Ashraf Awan, was a former SDO in the Telephone Department, known for his commendable social services. Her husband, Haji Shahid Ashraf Awan, is recognized for his services to the commercial community in Abbottabad. Her late father, Haji Muhammad Sabir, was a highly respected figure in Lower Malikpura.

She attributes her success to the prayers of her mother and all her family members. Professor Awan expressed gratitude to the provincial government for the promotion of herself and other teachers to Grade 21, and expressed confidence that such advancements will set an important standard for future educators and further elevate the prestige of the teaching profession.
