Bilawal led Sindh govt has pushed the province towards destruction, alleges Haleem

Haleem Adil Sheikh, president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh, on Sunday strongly criticised the Sindh government and the Pakistan Peoples Party over what he termed growing misgovernance, corruption, unemployment and the collapse of basic public services across the province.

According to PTI information, Haleem said the provincial government under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had pushed Karachi as well as the entire province to the brink of destruction.

‘Whether it is the devastation of Karachi or the deterioration of the whole of Sindh, the provincial government has left no sector untouched,’ he said, adding that roads, canals and infrastructure had already been destroyed while the systems of education, healthcare and employment had now completely collapsed.

The PTI Sindh chief alleged that children in government schools were deprived of textbooks and millions remained out of school, while patients in public hospitals were unable to receive medicines and treatment facilities. He said that despite receiving more than Rs30 trillion in budgets over the past 18 years, the Sindh government had failed to provide basic facilities to the people of the province.

The PTI Sindh president also accused the government of distributing jobs from Grade 1 to Grade 15 on the basis of political favouritism, recommendations and nepotism instead of merit. He further alleged that corruption and favouritism within the Sindh Public Service Commission had jeopardised the future of educated youth, leaving many young people frustrated and hopeless.

Haleem Adil Sheikh claimed that the people of Sindh were deprived of quality education, healthcare and employment opportunities, while farmers were also suffering due to low prices of wheat, cotton and sugarcane. He added that the closure of sugar mills had further worsened the difficulties faced by growers.

He said that from Karachi to Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Tharparkar, the entire province was facing severe decline, adding that young people were being forced to protest outside press clubs across Sindh in search of jobs.

Haleem Adil Sheikh also criticised the arrest of women social activists, calling it evidence of what he described as the ‘authoritarian mindset’ of the Sindh government. He urged the people of Sindh to raise their voice against injustice, corruption and alleged oppression by the ruling party, saying that silence was no longer an option.

‘Corruption has become common knowledge from University Road to the riverine areas, and the Sindh government has failed on every front,’ he said. He maintained that the Pakistan Peoples Party led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was responsible for the destruction of Karachi and the deterioration of Sindh, and urged people to unite for their rights.
