Pakistan has recently witnessed a significant rise in its global standing following its successes in the ‘Battle for Truth’ and ‘Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,’ according to former diplomat Sardar Masood Khan, who previously held key roles in the United States and the United Nations.
According to Khan, Pakistan’s achievements have transformed international perceptions regarding its diplomatic, strategic, and political importance. Key progress was seen in four interconnected areas, each contributing to the enhancement of Pakistan’s international reputation.
In the military sphere, Pakistan demonstrated high operational capability and strategic expertise. The effective use of advanced technology, including cyber capabilities and digital warfare, highlighted its strong defense potential.
Diplomatic success was reflected in Pakistan’s continued engagement with major world capitals while advocating regional stability despite India’s dismissive posture. This approach helped reshape global perceptions regarding regional tensions.
On the communication front, Pakistan’s media and institutions emphasized fact-based reporting and strategic communication, contrasting with what Khan described as India’s exaggerated narratives, which failed to gain global traction.
National unity also emerged as a major factor, with citizens standing united in support of national sovereignty and the armed forces despite internal political differences.
These achievements, Khan said, have brought diplomatic advantages for Pakistan, including improved relations with the United States and a more prominent role in global peace efforts. Pakistan has emerged as a credible mediator in efforts to prevent broader conflicts, particularly between Iran and the United States.
Khan noted that this diplomatic success echoes Pakistan’s historic contributions, such as facilitating contacts between the United States and China in 1971, as well as its involvement in the Geneva Accords and the Doha process. Today, Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts reflect a deeper level of global trust and responsibility.
Regarding the ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations, Khan emphasized the importance of political will in advancing dialogue. Confidence-building measures are essential, including easing sanctions and recognizing Iran’s nuclear rights under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Pakistan, he said, has entered a historic diplomatic phase marked by greater opportunities and responsibilities. Strengthening the economy, promoting regional partnerships, and establishing itself as a stabilizing force for peace and dialogue remain critical tasks for the country’s future.
