Pakistan rejected India’s allegations at the United Nations Security Council

During a heated exchange at the United Nations Security Council today, Pakistan strongly rejected India’s allegations, accusing New Delhi of state-sponsored terrorism and human rights violations. Saima Saleem, representing Pakistan, condemned India’s portrayal of itself as a victim and highlighted its alleged aggressive actions at both domestic and regional levels.

Saleem accused India of exporting terrorism, presenting groups like TTP, BLA, and Majeed Brigade as India’s proxies to destabilize Pakistan. She claimed that these groups carried out attacks from Afghan soil, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties.

Pakistan defended its counter-terrorism operations in Afghanistan, explaining that these operations specifically target terrorist infrastructure rather than ordinary civilians or Afghan citizens. Saleem dismissed the allegations of Taliban being supported by India, which she described as a disinformation campaign intended to cover up violence against Pakistani citizens.

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir was also discussed, where Saleem condemned India’s occupation and oppression against civilians in the region. She pointed to international reports documenting human rights violations, including the suppression of fundamental freedoms and denial of self-determination.

Furthermore, Saleem highlighted the plight of minorities in India, particularly Muslims, whom she described as being subjected to systemic discrimination and violence under the Hindutva ideology. She condemned the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, accusing India of compromising Pakistan’s water security.

Concluding her statement, Saleem highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful negotiations and adherence to international law, which she contrasted with India’s record of aggression and coercion.

Pakistan reiterated its desire for peaceful relations based on mutual respect, appealing for the resolution of outstanding issues in accordance with the UN Charter.
