Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has said Pakistan is working on major regional projects to enhance rail links with Central Asian countries.
During a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker, he said railway connections to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Nokkundi and Gwadar will promote trade and connectivity in the region, according to a report today.
Both sides agreed that the US will explore investment opportunities in Pakistan Railways’ infrastructure and modern technology.
The US Chargé d’Affaires assured to encourage American companies and investors to invest in Pakistan Railways.
Discussions were held on opportunities for US investment in locomotives, wagons, freight operations and railway technology in Pakistan Railways.
