Central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party and Member of National Assembly, Nawabzada Jamal Raisani on Tuesday said that the propaganda campaign being waged on social media was a silent but dangerous war against Pakistan.
These views were expressed by him while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club with provincial Ministers Mir Asim Kurd Gilo, Haji Ali Madad Jatak, provincial leader of PPP, Mir Fareed Raisani and others.
Raisani said that the separatist movement in Balochistan had been going on for a long time and enemy elements were trying to achieve their goals through modern technology, encrypted apps and social media, adding human rights narratives were being used to mislead the public against state institutions. Nawabzada Jamal Raisani said that after Bashir Zeb took over the command of the armed organization in 2018, various incidents and terrorist activities accelerated.
Raisani said that a person named Junaid was a BLA commander and logistics supporter, about whom information came to light during the CTD operation in Karachi and the arrested network was working under his leadership. He said that automatically deleted messages were sent through encrypted apps, which were used by terrorist elements for communication and planning. He said that those apps were turning different groups into an effective network.
Raisani alleged that youth were being misled through emotional videos and specific hashtags, while some organizations were also using women for their purposes. He said that platforms like Baloch Yekjehti Committee-BYC were causing youth to be misled.
He further claimed that some individuals and groups were in touch with external elements and receive funding for activities against Balochistan and Pakistan, adding that the presence of such elements in some political and social activities in the province indicated a specific pattern. Jamal Raisani said that attempts to push Balochistan towards hatred and violence had taken a modern form.
He clarified that peaceful political dissent was the right of every citizen, however, no platform would be allowed to be used for anti-state activities and action would be taken according to the law. He said that the government was taking various steps for the welfare of the youth, including the youth policy, and the foundation for improvement had been laid in the province.
Raisani said the problems of Balochistan could be solved in a few years, however, the current government was making progress in the right direction. On this occasion, Provincial leader of PPP, Mir Farid Raisani said that all the instigators of terrorism were related to the network of Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch, adding that people associated with the Shuhada Forum were constantly targeted. He said it was the need of the hour to take a common stand against terrorists.
