Dangerous armed criminal arrested in clash with Thatta police, accomplice escapes, valuable mobile phones snatched from tourists recovered

Thatta police today arrested a notorious criminal involved in multiple street crimes, including robbery and snatching, in an encounter, in an injured state. As a result of the operation, led by Inspector Ziad Hussain Nunari of Thatta police station, a shotgun (repeater) and two valuable snatched touch screen mobile phones were recovered.

This incident occurred near Chhato Chand on the Evergreen Link Road. During a routine patrol, authorities attempted to stop the suspects, who opened fire in response. During the exchange, the police arrested a suspect, Gul Sher son of Mohib Jakhro, from Bharyo Sheedi Mori. However, his accomplices managed to escape.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Gul Sher has been involved in multiple crimes, including robberies and snatching incidents in Thatta, Makli, and surrounding areas. Notably, he and his accomplices looted tourists near Keenjhar Lake on the night of 29 May 2026, snatching mobile phones and cash at gunpoint and fleeing.

Police have intensified efforts to capture the escaping accomplices. Meanwhile, the injured Gul Sher has been transferred to the hospital for immediate medical treatment. Further investigations into his criminal activities are ongoing.
