In a significant meeting today, the provincial cabinet of Sindh, led by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, approved transformative projects in the sectors of infrastructure, energy, and health, allocating a notable fund to improve the province’s water supply and drainage systems.

The cabinet approved an additional 8.824 billion rupees for 16 development projects to enhance water supply and drainage, ensuring significant progress in these essential services. Furthermore, Karachi will benefit from 11 non-ADP infrastructure projects under the Karachi Mega Project, valued at over 11.19 billion rupees. These initiatives aim to enhance the urban landscape of the city, through the refurbishment of key roads and construction of new bridges to improve traffic flow.

In another significant decision, the cabinet approved a framework allowing Sindh to receive its 12.5% share of natural gas royalties in kind. This innovative hybrid model is expected to boost the province’s revenue by over 26 billion rupees annually and support local industries to promote energy conservation.

In the health sector, a strategic policy for nursing staff from 2026 to 2040 was approved to address critical shortages and improve healthcare delivery. This policy is designed to increase the number of trained nurses, enhance educational infrastructure, and align with international healthcare standards.

Additionally, the cabinet approved a procurement plan worth 857.024 million rupees to strengthen the operational capacity of the counter-terrorism department, highlighting Sindh’s commitment to improving security measures.

These comprehensive developments reflect the Sindh government’s commitment to advancing the sectors of infrastructure, energy, and health, assuring substantial benefits for the province’s residents.
