Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said modern agricultural machinery has become indispensable for farmers.
In a statement today, she reaffirmed her commitment to steer farmers towards agricultural modernization. Maryam highlighted that the Punjab government is facilitating small farmers by providing access to advanced agricultural machinery on a rental basis.
Under the Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Scheme, a subsidy of one million rupees has been provided on 9,500 high-power tractors, while 10,000 tractors ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower are being supplied to farmers with a subsidy of 500,000 rupees each.
The Punjab Chief Minister announced that 20,000 green tractors will be distributed among farmers during the next fiscal year.
