Pakistan has reiterated its firm opposition to the use of chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere and under any circumstances.
According to a report by MOIB today, the remarks were made by Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Usman Jadoon during the UN Security Council briefing on the Middle East.
The Ambassador said Chemical Weapons Convention remains a cornerstone of global disarmament framework. He extended Pakistan’s support to all efforts for its universalization as well as its full, effective and non-discriminatory implementation.
Usman Jadoon appreciated the commitment of the Syrian authorities to extend full cooperation with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
