Pakistan has emerged as a notable contender in the field of Information and Communication Technology, securing the third position today in the Network Track of the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals 2025-2026 held in Shenzhen, China.
This remarkable achievement has brought immense pride to Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, as one of the team members, Muhammad Noman Khan, is a student of the university’s Information Technology Center (ITC).
The Pakistani contingent, composed of students from Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, showcased remarkable technical acumen and ingenuity, securing their position among teams from 40 different nations.
The global contest witnessed participation from 170 teams, offering a competitive stage for budding ICT talents. Muhammad Nouman Khan played a pivotal role in the Network Track, contributing significantly to the team”s success through his technical prowess and professional conduct.
SAU Vice Chancellor, Engr Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal, extended his congratulations to Muhammad Nouman Khan and the entire Pakistani team for their impressive performance. He highlighted that the university’s students have consistently gained recognition in international contests, bringing honour to both the institution and the country.
‘The sustained success of our students in the Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals reflects the high quality of education and training provided at our university, aligned with contemporary technological needs,’ he expressed.
Dr Siyal also acknowledged the efforts of Dr Sohrab Thaheem, a faculty member at the Information Technology Centre, for his valuable mentorship and preparation of students for global competitions.
Dr Thaheem, who is a Huawei-approved instructor and serves as the Point of Contact for Huawei ICT Academy, has played an instrumental role in imparting advanced knowledge and practical skills in information technology and networking to the students.
