ICCBS Signs USD 15 Million Deal with Chinese Firm

Emerging Software Pvt Ltd, an incubated startup at the ICCBS Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center, International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has signed a USD 15 million cross-border e-commerce agreement with China.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, University of Karachi, congratulated the leadership of Emerging Software on this landmark achievement. According to Emerging Software CEO Asad Khatri, this milestone for Pakistan’s startup ecosystem was achieved during the recent Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference held in Hangzhou, China, in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Liu Jie, Governor of Zhejiang Province, had inaugurated the conference, highlighting the growing momentum of Pakistan-China economic cooperation and Pakistan’s focus on investment, technology transfer, industrial collaboration, and long-term partnerships.

As part of the conference, Emerging Software Pvt. Ltd. officially signed a Cross-Border E-Commerce Channel Promotion Service Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai Pingyuan-Tech Co., Ltd., China, he added.

‘This deal is a testament to the power of nurturing home-grown talent. From the incubation halls of the ICCBS Technology Park in Karachi to the international stage in Hangzhou, China, this achievement demonstrates what Pakistan’s startup ecosystem is capable of,’ he remarked.

It is pertinent to mention that this achievement reaffirms that, with the right ecosystem, mentorship, and determination, Pakistani startups can successfully compete and excel on the global stage.

According to an ICCBS spokesman, the ICCBS Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center at the University of Karachi provides state-of-the-art facilities to startups, young entrepreneurs, and research and development units of established industries. With more than 50,000 square feet dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the ICCBS Technology Park and Technology Incubation Center is currently one of the largest technology incubation centers in the country.
