The country is facing a scorching day as the meteorological department has predicted mostly hot and dry conditions across the country today, with southern districts particularly bracing for intense heat.
The temperatures recorded in major urban centers this morning reflect the intensity of the early summer heat. In Islamabad, the temperature was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius, while Lahore and Karachi experienced hot weather at 29 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively. In Peshawar, the temperature reached 27 degrees Celsius, and a relatively cooler 19 degrees Celsius was noted in Quetta. In the northern areas, Gilgit and Murree reported 16 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively, indicating relatively cooler weather. Meanwhile, the temperature in Muzaffarabad remained at 22 degrees Celsius.
The southern parts of the country are expected to face extremely severe conditions, while meteorological experts have urged residents to take necessary precautions against the heat. It is advised to increase water intake and minimize exposure to sunlight to avoid the effects of the hot weather.
