Sindh Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that increasing exports is essential for the stability of the national economy and the strengthening of foreign exchange reserves, adding that the private sector is playing a vital role in the country’s economic growth.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of exporters at the Governor House, according to a statement issued from the Sindh Governor House today. The delegation included Abdul Jabbar (Director, Dalal Industries Pvt. Ltd.), Rehan Mehtab Chawla (Al Karam Towel Group), Arif Aziz (Silver Rags and Group of Companies), Ahsan (Roomi Textile), and Raees Ahmed (President and CEO, Prime Impex International).
During the meeting, matters relating to the challenges faced by the export sector, improvement of the business environment, and proposals for enhancing exports were discussed in detail. The exporters also presented various suggestions aimed at promoting industrial and commercial activities.
The governor assured the delegation that issues concerning the export sector would be raised at the relevant forums. He further stated that the government was committed to creating a conducive environment for investment and business growth.
He added that recommendations from industrialists and exporters could help make economic policies more effective, while the promotion of industry, trade, and exports would create new employment opportunities.
