A tragic accident occurred today on the link road near Jhirak where a woman and her young daughter were killed, while her husband and another daughter were seriously injured.
The incident happened when a speeding passenger van collided with the motorcycle on which laborer Kanji Kolhi and his family were traveling. The victims were identified as Shamo Devi, Kolhi’s wife, and their daughter Reshman, both of whom died on the spot.
Kanji Kolhi and his other daughter, Divya, were seriously injured and were immediately taken to Jhirak Hospital for treatment.
Local law enforcement agencies have taken the van involved in the collision into custody, although the driver managed to flee the scene and is currently at large.
This accident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and speeding in the area. Authorities are continuing investigations in search of the fugitive driver.
